In honor of Earth Day, Main Line PA IPL, in conjunction with the statewide PA IPL, are excited to offer a one-woman theatrical performance exploring the life of Rachel Carson (1907-1964)—a new Heritage Theatre Guild’s Famous American Women program created and presented by Pat Jordan.
About Rachel Carson: Born and raised outside of Pittsburgh, Rachel Carson is a Pennsylvania environmental heroine: a world-renowned marine biologist, conservationist, and influential author of Silent Spring (1962) and other works. She is known today as the Mother of Modern Environmentalism.
About Pat Jordan: Professional actor, playwright, and director, Pat Jordan’s passion for history has led her to bring the stories of Famous American Women to audiences throughout the country. Betsy Ross, Clara Barton, Louisa May Alcott, and suffragist leader Carrie Chapman are among the characters she has researched and brought to life, performing at numerous venues including the National Archives in Washington, DC, the Truman Library, and the Smithsonian Institution. Pat is an active member of the Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, PA.
