STATE COLLEGE: Movie and discussion – Central PA Circuit Riders and 3rd Way Collective

For our February gathering, Central PA Circuit Riders are teaming up with the 3rd Way Collective.  We’ll be joining 3rd Way for their monthly pizza and a movie night at New Leaf.

We’ll watch a few selections from The Story of Stuff project and have some intergenerational discussion.

UPDATE: we watched

STATE COLLEGE Film: The True Cost

The Green Sanctuary Team of member congregation Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County and our friends on the Green Committee of Foxdale Village Retirement Community have extended their very successful film-and-discussion collaboration into 2018!  Join them for free screenings and discussions of a variety of films.

January’s film, The True Cost is a documentary about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the impact the industry is having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically.  Free and open to the public.

STATE COLLEGE – Hometown Habitat: Stories of Bringing Nature Home

Movie and discussion.
Find us downstairs in Harkins Hall.
Plenty of parking, wheelchair accessible.

Come enjoy learning how to transform your own yard, your local park, or congregational property into a haven for wildlife using native plant species.  We’ll watch a film about bringing nature back into these places and have a short discussion period after.  You’ll learn how to bring nature home and share our common space with the plants, the insects, the birds, and the mammals that support life on earth.

Film runs 90 minutes, and features examples of communities, congregations, and individuals who have changed their outdoor spaces to be more resilient and welcoming, including some houses of worship that have earned Sacred Grounds certification through the Audubon Society. Read more and watch the trailer.

RSVPs help us plan.  Contact PA IPL Board member Greg Williams with questions or to let him know you’re coming.  Email Greg or call 215-242-0854
