Meghan Conley is the Director of Community Partnerships in the Department of Sociology at the University of Tennessee, where she teaches and writes about immigration politics and policies. She is also the co-chair of AKIN (Allies of Knoxville’s Immigrant Neighbors), a network of people in the Knoxville area who work to encourage dialogue and understanding about issues related to immigrants and refugees, to support immigrant and refugee communities, to promote more just and reasonable policies, and to foster a welcoming community.
The Knoxville Branch of TN IPL encourages you to join this call on the intersection of climate change and human migration. Meghan will give us a presentation about the forces that cause people to move from where they live and how climate change becomes the primary driver of people moving.
