How does sponsorship work?

You let us know you’d like to be a sponsor, and send us a short blurb, a logo, and a web link. We add your logo and link to our bike trip posts. We post your blurb (and link) here on the sponsors page, and use some of that language for our thank you post on our social media. For gold sponsors and above: if you provide a sign, flag, or banner, we’d love to take a picture of the cyclists with your logo for those social media spots.

Over 700 people “like” PA IPL’s Facebook page, and we’ve been building audience for the PAIPL on Bikes Facebook page. The bike profile posts are very popular – sometimes hitting 1000 views, as friends, family, and communities follow the cyclists’ progress. This trip captures the interest, enthusiasm, and imaginations of many people across Pennsylvania and beyond. It is our most digitally-engaged time of the year.

What is PA IPL?  PA IPL is a group of congregations and individuals of faith and spirit responding to climate change as an urgent moral issue, by, with, and in faith. We gather in action and hope with a mix of the tangible (walking, caulking, and planting) and the intangible (education, prayer, and public dialogue/advocacy).  Learn more on our home page blog.

What is the ride about?  The cyclists connect with communities and people of faith, lead by low-emissions example, and share PA IPL’s work and mission.

The trips end with a visit to Pennsylvania offices on Capitol Hill to communicate the message that climate change is a moral and ethical challenge that must be addressed by individuals, communities and congregations, and also our elected leaders, working together in active hope.  Low-carbon transportation is one way to act!

The State College Presbyterian Church is a warm, diverse, dynamic faith community with people of all ages and generations coming together to learn, serve and worship together. This congregation has been called by God and organized to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, to minister to the needs of members of the congregation and residents of the community, and to promote peace and justice in the world. As one part of that ministry and witness, we have become certified as a Presbyterian Earth Care Congregation, a certification which requires annual renewal through the Presbyterian Church (USA).

There are many opportunities for service and fellowship here. We urge you to find a “community of faith” where you can grow and serve.

We are members of PA IPL, and are pleased to be following the ride of theRev. Dean Lindsey, our pastor, who is riding this year.

Participating bicyclists wear their shirts (with your logo) during the 4.5-day ride.  Along the way, they stop in many communities along the way where they meet with members of local congregations and visit coffee shops (in Huntingdon for example) and other establishments in the communities.

Of course, bike participants make it a point to patronize sponsoring shops.  In addition, all sponsors get exposure on the PA-IPL website and via social media, as well as specific sponsor acknowledgement at events. PA-IPL has planned events almost every weekend until the trip and plans to mention its sponsors at these events. Over 300 people “like” PA-IPL’s Facebook page.  The bike profile posts are very popular – one of this year’s has already hit 1000 views.
