Faith in Public Life

Exploring the intersection of faith and civic engagement

Welcome!

PA IPL is excited to announce the launch of our new resource “Faith in Public Life.” Originally conceived as a booklet that would help us have tough conversations about our big emotions surrounding the civic process this year, “Faith in Public Life” ultimately became a much bigger project. This resource is meant to be a container for reflection, conversation, and connection at the intersection of faith and civic engagement. Our staff and fellows crafted this resource with love and with the intention to learn together, foster community, and build momentum within the interfaith climate movement.

Within “Faith in Public Life”, you’re invited to consider what it means to be civically engaged. How can you start to make change by asking questions about the community that you live in? Given our mutual interdependence, how do our faiths call us to live in the world? We explore the ways in which our faith traditions call us to engage in the civic process, and the many ways that such engagement might look. We’ll think about what it means to start from a place of community and radical acceptance, and bring ourselves into conversation with others more often.

“Faith in Public Life” guides PA IPL’s civic engagement work. Our campaign is focused on registering new voters, facilitating workshops about the intersection of faith and civic engagement, and building community relationships.

You’re invited to be part of this conversation. Download our “Faith in Public Life” resource to learn more!

Do you feel passionately about faith being part of the discourse around civic engagement? Fill out our Interest Form to volunteer as part of PA IPL’s civic engagement campaign. You’ll have the opportunity to facilitate workshops and dialogue about faith and civic engagement tailored to your own community context.
