STATE COLLEGE: Care of Creation breakfast and discussion with Laudato Si
January 21, 2017 @ 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
FreeMembers of Trinity Lutheran Church and members of the wider community are all warmly invited to join any or all of our breakfast discussions on the first and third Saturday mornings in January and February.
from TLC’s event page:
Join our Care of Creation Team for FREE breakfast and FREE copies of Laudato Si – Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment and human ecology (this could be the PA Interfaith Power & Light handbook!). Learn how Laudato Si can inspire and lead us to Care for Creation in today’s climate. Please RSVP is you can attend.
This is a series of four Prayer/Bible Study / Discussion classes being held at Trinity Lutheran Church ~State College, PA on North Atherton Street, beginning Saturday, January 7 at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast. The four classes will meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of January and February (Jan. 7 & 21, Feb. 4 & 18). Contact Karl Raynar with any questions. (814) 574-4795 or by email.
NOTE: This particular session of the discussion will be followed by a brief vigil. The timing of both will allow interested participants to also attend the first of the annual winter Saturday public lecture series from Penn State: Frontiers of Science. This year’s theme is The Quest for One Healthy Planet, and the first lecture is “How to Heal Earth’s Climate,” by Michael Mann. From 2:00-4:00 in the same afternoon there will be a faith-in-action option: a Habitat Care work party at Walnut Spring Park.
