Retreat for Climate Change Activists

January 5, 2014 @ 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Enter the New Year with renewed energy for being a steward of the Earth.  The Philadelphia chapter of PAIPL will be hosting an afternoon of spiritual nourishment, renewal, and inspiration for climate change activists of all faiths.

Sunday, January 5, 2-4:30 p.m., Summit Presbyterian Church, 6757 Greene St., Philadelphia, PA  19119.

The retreat is informed by Joanna Macy’s Works that Reconnects”  This process encourages us to connect with our love for all life as well as the feelings that arise within us when we encounter the destruction and chaos of our world. Through this work, we are empowered to see with new eyes and to go forth with a strong and full heart. If you would like to learn more about Joanna Macy’s approach in advance of the retreat, see her book Active Hope or her website The Work That Reconnects (http://workthatreconnects.org/) Please bring a journal and pen.

Rabbi Melissa Klein (malkahbinah@gmail.com) and Lynne Iser (lpiser@aol.com) will be facilitating this session. No fee; however, a donation of $5-10 is appreciated to help defray costs.  You’re invited to fill out the form PA_IPL Retreat for Climate Change Activists, January 5, 2-4:30 pm.
