Prayerful Protest: Philadelphia

April 10, 2014 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Free

Protect our City from the Danger of Oil Trains.   Stop shipments of Bakken Oil throughout the country and invest in renewable energy.

Come to a prayerful protest sponsored by Interfaith Power and Light (Philadelphia Chapter) on Thursday, April 10th, 12:00 p.m. at 1735 Market Street, in front of the offices of Philadelphia Energy Solutions.

1/2 and full-page flyers for download here: flyerFull    flyer3_half  Please share in your networks!

PES brings daily trains into Philadelphia filled with Shale Oil from the Bakken region of North Dakota.  Such trains have derailed and exploded across North America, causing widespread damage and fatalities.   At 12:45 we’ll march to City Hall, asking the City Council to ensure the safety of Philadelphia residents.

Renew your hope as we gather in the week before Jews and Christians celebrate Passover and Holy Week, and the liberation from oppression that these observances remember.   Come together in joy as we raise our voices to protect our planet and all who live upon it.   The gathering will begin with invocations from several faith traditions, and participants will be invited to share good news as well as concerns.
