We get started with Ruth Douglas Miller, our volunteer creation care coordinator, sharing updates on the 2024 Fall PA Plants Native! distribution. Then our Berks distribution host, Mary Ellen Mahan (a Master Gardener) and her partner talk about the value of native trees and why it is important to plant native. Finally Greg Williams, longtime planter, joins Mary to share lessons learned on how to plant and keep your trees growing, including the hows and whys of shelters and bird netting. The session ends with Q&A.
This program is for all who are curious about the benefits of planting native trees and learning about our PA Plants Native! Program. It contains information specific to the Fall 2024 distribution season which is only applicable to those who have already requested trees. Attendance (or review of the recording) is strongly encouraged for all who have requested trees for delivery this Fall.
